Powdered Dancer (Argia moesta)

Synonyms: Agrion moestum, Agrion putridum, Argia intruda |
Argia moesta is widespread in North America east of the Rocky Mountains, ranging from Ontario and southern Quebec to Florida, California, and central Mexico (Map). This species is found at streams, rivers, and lakes, e.g., where mats of floating vegetation are present. It may be seen year-round at the south of its range. The images below show mostly A. moesta, although A. sedula and Enallagma civile were present in that congregation of as well.
